General Responsibilities: The following does not imply that these are the only duties required. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.
· Ensure the safety of the program participants, staff and facility. Report any potential concerns immediately and access law enforcement as needed.
· Interview new intakes, explaining the guidelines and checking program participants into rooms.
· Responsible for monitoring and inspecting the facility through regular duties and inspecting for cleanliness, upkeep and safety. Duties include janitorial responsibilities as well as maintenance and repairs. Open and close the kitchen as needed on a daily basis.
· Resolve and/or report any grievances or concerns to the appropriate persons.
· Responsible for the general conduct of the guests, and program participants when on duty. Enforce all shelter guidelines and conduct room checks when needed; assist program participants in after hour emergencies.
· Organize and supervise shelter activities during coverage hours such as chore sheets and update the incoming and outgoing program participants on all necessary paperwork. Print out and distribute program participant sheets, volunteer sheets and chore sheet to all those needing copies.
· Distribute meds at their designated times, following proper protocol and procedures.
· Maintain accurate documentation of overnight occurrences and significant information.
· Maintain security of the property. Check to see if the program participants are all parked in the east parking lot and not in the first 3 stalls that are saved for visitors.
· Answer all phone call in a professional manner and direct all calls to the correct extension, maintaining program participant confidentially when asked about any program participant.
· Maintain confidentiality when dealing with any program participant, also when dealing with any transaction between program participants and the public.
· Perform and report alcohol test as need on program participants.
