They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Tool Grinder B to join their team.

Location: Franklin Park, IL

Salary Range: $50,000

Job Description:

As a Tool Grinder B, you will play a crucial role in setting up and operating grinders for various tool-grinding operations. The successful candidate will work from blueprints, specifications, and instructions to ensure precision and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, specifications, and piece parts to perform tool grinding operations.
• Set up equipment for surface, drill pointing, broach, hob, and other grinding operations on steel and carbide cutters, reamers, dies, gauges, form tools, or special items.
• Plan sequence of operations, select workpiece holding methods and verify dimensions, tolerance, tooling, and grinding requirements.
• Dress wheels, mount grinding wheels, set grind parameters, and adjust machine settings.
• Measure workpieces and perform secondary operations to achieve high finish requirements.
• Maintain equipment, perform routine checks, and ensure safety devices are operative.
• Collaborate with other team members and notify supervisors of any unusual equipment or operating issues.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years of manual machining experience
• Experience with manual milling, lathes, and measurement tools
• Skilled at blueprint reading, basic trigonometry, and other basic math skills

Physical Demands:

• Occasional sitting, twisting, bending, and pushing/pulling
• Frequent walking and standing
• Lifting/carrying of 1-25 lbs.

Visual Demands:

• Continuous close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
• Continuous distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)

Work Environment & Hazards:

• Occasional exposure to cold, heat, machine movement, or vibration
• Continuous exposure to loud noise
