Job Summary:

In this role, The Providence Center Peer Consultant will be a valuable resource for the training of peers and development of programming for this expansion.

Peer Consultant for The Providence Center Oasis Wellness & Recovery Center will be responsible for guiding the training of new peers and development of program content under supervision of the Program Manager. Consultant will also play a role in running peer programming and community advocacy work. He/she will play a significant role in coordinating outreach and recruiting peers throughout the state. This role schedule is twenty (24) hours per week.

We are looking for a knowledgeable consultant to provide advice within the area of Peer Support Services. The duties of a consultant include analyzing situations and providing appropriate solutions, provide appropriate feedback in accordance with the mission of the Providence Center. Which is to help adults, adolescents, and children affected by psychiatric illnesses, emotional problems, and addictions by providing treatment and supportive services within a community setting. Consultant should have the ability to use sound research techniques to collect the necessary data to advance Peer Support Services while staying in line with the strategic vision of TPC and Peer Support Services

Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Consultant will be involved in the interview process for hiring the Manager of Peer Support Services.

Collaborating with Manager of Peer Support Services and Peer Support staff on projects to address issues and needs.

Collaborating with management and staff to understand their needs.

Conducting research on the organization and its customers.

Analyzing data to identify problem areas.

Developing plans to implement solutions.

Keeping abreast of changes in the industry.

Requirements:

A relevant bachelor's degree (Preferred).

Proven experience in the field of Peer Services.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of relevant data analysis and research procedures.

Demonstrable project management abilities.

Creative and strategic thinking skills.

Use of personal vehicles not required in this position however would be beneficial. If utilized must have valid driver's license and insured auto.

Certified Peer Specialist Certification and Community Mental Health worker Certification required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Good communication skills. Good organizational skills. Personal resilience.
