The Activity Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in accordance with the needs and interests of the residents. The Activity Assistant will work closely with the Activity Director to ensure that all programs are engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable for the residents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for the residents
- Assist in the coordination of special events and outings
- Assist in the preparation of materials and supplies for activities
- Assist in the maintenance of activity equipment and supplies
- Assist in the documentation of resident participation and progress
- Assist in the development of new programs and activities
- Assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers
- Assist in the promotion of activities to residents and families
- Assist in the coordination of interdepartmental activities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare or senior living setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
