Responsibilities
The EHS Intern will participate in the day-today operations of the Eagle EHS team. Intern will gain exposure to different sub functions within EHS such as Safety Observations, Job Hazard Analysis, PPE Hazard Assessments, Evaluating and implementing emergency evacuation training procedures, and participate in safety audits throughout the facility. During the internship, the EHS intern will work on EHS-focused projects. This EHS Internship will allow you to gain analytical and strategic thinking skills while working on challenging projects. You will gain critical real-world experience with EHS analytics, systems, and processes as a member of the Eagle EHS team. This is a full-time, paid summer internship.
Examples of projects may include
- Develop and audit current SDS program.
- Assist in implementing of new EHS policies.
- Update safety signage throughout the facility.
- Support with daily use of Lighthouse SMS.
- Participate in daily EHS audits within safety and environmental.
- Assist in new hire orientation.
- Any other ad-hoc EHS projects.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline, entering in your senior year in fall of 2023
- Have a strong interest in pursuing a career in Environment, Health, and Safety
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to champion ideas and concepts across all levels of an organization
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office suite are essential
- Experience in building and delivering presentations
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly is essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize work initiatives, collaborate and drive for results
This role will sit in the Wellsburg, WV office, with the potential to work remotely one or two days a week after the initial orientation period.
