Field Claims Representative - Appleton, WI/Northeast WI

Be part of the SECURA claims team where customer service is the focus.  SECURA is looking for an experienced Field Claims Representative in our Northeast Wisconsin territory.   SECURA’s family-friendly culture and commitment to work-life balance allows for our Field Representatives to work a manageable territory size and workload. As a Field Claims Representative focused on first-property claims, our associates have an opportunity to learn and grow in their career by handling claims in varying sizes and complexities in our multiple lines of business units. Our Field Reps have autonomy to set their own inspection schedules with policyholders and make quality claim decisions in the adjustment process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect, prepare detailed damage estimates, negotiate, and settle property claims.
• Examine policy coverage forms and other records to determine insurance coverage.
• Interview and correspond with policyholders.
• Establish and monitor reserves to adequately reflect the exposure.
• Make appropriate reserve changes as each file develops.
• Assist in agency management by providing feedback to Underwriting and conducting agency visits.
• Occasionally handle and manage complex losses in specific areas of expertise.
• Focus on outstanding customer service toward all customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:

• Two-plus years’ experience in property claim settlement.
• Excellent keyboard/PC skills.
• Working knowledge of claims law.
• Understanding of insurance coverages for commercial, personal, and farm.
• Top-notch organization and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to work independently and manage the territory.
• Excellent problem-solving and negotiating skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED:

• Certificate in General Insurance.
• AIC, CPCU, ARM, or CIC designations.
• College degree or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience using Xactimate estimating software.
