This position plays a pivotal role in managing and guiding engineering teams to success on a variety of projects across Western Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering direct reports, providing mentorship, managing budgets, and ensuring the high-quality execution of projects from conception through to completion.
Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities
- Manage engineering direct reports, providing coaching and mentoring to foster professional growth.
- Oversee and manage budgets for Investment Grade Audits or Pre-Construction Services Proposals.
- Develop and communicate the scope of work for Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) to clients clearly and efficiently.
- Lead design teams through all design phases on projects, ensuring excellence and compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with Construction Managers to establish Guaranteed Maximum (GMAX) Construction costs for projects in Western Washington.
- Direct and manage the engineering team’s efforts on projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Review and oversee the methodology for creating Guaranteed Energy Savings, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Manage the schedule for the development of projects, ensuring efficient progress and timely completion.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Mechanical System Design, particularly HVAC systems.
- Deep knowledge of current codes and guidelines, including the Washington State Energy Code.
- Strong presentation skills, capable of effectively presenting to large audiences.
- Skilled in negotiation, able to effectively discuss Scope of Work, Budget, and Schedule with clients.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers.
- Expertise in using Computer Simulation Loads Analysis and Energy Analysis Programs.
- Experience in holding client meetings and developing the scope of work for energy projects.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Must hold a Professional Engineering Certificate.
