Job PurposeThe VP Brand is a senior leader responsible for creating and advancing our brand purpose, position, and strategy. This leader must hold and maintain a deep understanding of the health and wellness industry and consumer behavior within and around it, ensuring our brand creates and amplifies a deep and meaningful connection between customers and our products. This role requires a leader who can adapt to communicating, teaching, and thinking at varying levels of altitude, while driving the organization to think broadly, strategically, innovatively, and creatively. The keeper of the brand’s authenticity and purpose, this role requires an individual who thrives in complex, fast paced environments, but who can maintain and promote a consistent perspective across diverse teams, channels, and touchpoints. Customer orientated, big thinkers who can translate ideas into action and work through others will be happiest in this role.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Develop, evolve, and iterate Pressed brand positioning and brand strategy—leading and inspiring big, creative thinking that drives differentiation and brand affinity, builds community, and cascades into impactful business results
Maintain a deep understanding of the customer, their evolving needs and preferences, and the competitive landscape to craft compelling marketing strategies that attract new customers and deepen the loyalty of existing customers
Leverage brand strategy and consumer insights on an ongoing basis to lead strategic and tactical planning processes for all marketing initiatives, with corresponding tools and a workflow for the organization
Drive creative output and content that is aligned with brand strategy, is consistently reflective of our purpose and position, and which inspires customers to engage with our brand.
Build and maintain a centralized, integrated, and comprehensive marcom calendar—providing visibility and driving alignment and prioritization of marketing initiatives across the org and ensuring activations support enterprise business objectives. Responsibly plan and manage the brand marketing budget across initiatives to maximize delivery of business objectives—knowing when to spend and when to save.
Partner with cross functional leaders and teams to evaluate and contribute to channel strategy and tactical plans, while at the same time become the champion of brand strategy, aesthetic, and standards, ensuring the strategic intent of our brand materializes consistently and clearly at all touchpoints. Play an active role as a member of leadership team, working collaboratively with peers and other leaders to build and maintain growth, community, and culture.
Directly manage the creative and content. social media, partnerships. communications, retail and event marketing teams and functions while successfully connecting their strategies with those of cross-functional teams.
Pre-determine specific and quantifiable metrics of success for all initiatives, then actively measure performance to guide responsive iteration and future planning
Lead and mentor a growing team of marketers—fostering a culture of inspiration, growth, and empowerment.
Actively build succession plans, and work cross functionally to build brand marketing aptitude across the organization.
Qualifications & Capabilities
10 years’ experience driving brand function, including brand strategy development and execution, ideally in the health and wellness CPG industry.
Proven expertise in strategy development and product management with analytical approach to evaluation of new opportunities and existing activities.
Demonstrated track record of successfully growing businesses through brand vision, with an emphasis on community building in a multi-channel retail model.
Digital/E-commerce aptitude and marketing experience, including an understanding of core digital KPIs and funnel behavior
Proven experience in ROI driven product management practices.
Passion for Health and Wellness with a focus on problem / solution identification.
Executive level business acumen and communication skills; skilled at gaining input and buy in from cross-functional stakeholders and synthesizing perspectives into final decisions.
Experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple external and internal stakeholders
