Job Description
Careington is seeking a Content Manager to join our growing Marketing team. In this new position, you'll play an integral role to the Marketing team by writing and editing copy for client and consumer-facing print and digital campaigns as well as overseeing our copywriting team. As Content Manager, you'll interact with various teams across the company, allowing you to become a subject matter expert for all products and services Careington provides, while ensuring the copywriting team creates creative, impactful and quality content with the goal to connect with a variety of audiences.
About the Marketing Team
The Marketing team works under the direction of the Director of Marketing and the Assistant Director of Marketing. This creative, dynamic team includes graphic and web designers, two copywriters, a project coordinator, an event and tradeshow specialist and a marketing analyst. Marketing works closely with the Corporate Communications and Task Force teams, and together, these teams create and develop all print and digital efforts for all of Careington's brands and affiliate companies, as well as those of our partners and clients.
In collaboration with the Marketing team, the Content Manager will perform the following duties:
What You'll Do
- Oversee the Marketing copywriting team and assist the team in creating compelling, original content across all brands and mediums.
- Thoroughly monitor all content pieces for quality and accuracy.
- Work closely with team members on creative direction for each project.
- Collaborate with web and graphic designers to plan and execute all materials.
- Write copy for a variety of print and digital communications including emails, websites, digital ads, direct mail, e-newsletters, flyers, brochures, member fulfillment kits, proposals, video scripts, radio scripts and more.
- Review all content and follow the established protocol from a product accuracy, brand presence, marketing message and compliance perspective before submitting the final piece to the Communications and Compliance departments for their final review and approval.
- Write SEO-optimized content for digital efforts.
- Proof and edit copy to ensure copy is free of typos, grammatical and punctuation errors, and uses consistent tone and style of writing.
- Work closely with the content review team to ensure all recommended changes are made to content.
- Develop copy templates for ongoing use in communications, when applicable.
- Research and document industry-related topics for use in content.
- Coordinate projects with all relevant teams to ensure content and materials are created and approved in a timely, efficient manner.
- Develop a familiarity with products and services for all Careington brands and affiliate companies.
What You'll Have
- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, marketing, communications or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of content creation and management experience for print and/or digital campaigns.
- Acute attention to detail and creative eye.
- Ability to create content tailored to different audiences, as well as adapt content for media vehicle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create high-quality messaging.
- Strong command of writing and editing practices, including proficiency with AP Style guidelines and preferred style.
- Organization skills with the ability to prioritize projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help execute marketing projects.
- Ability to handle constructive criticism from peers and team management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
