Now Hiring - Executive Director - NJ
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
The Executive Director is responsible for, but not limited to:
Oversees programs through delegation of assigned responsibilities to administrative and supervisory personnel according to their education, training, competencies and job descriptions.
Provides planning for and administers the managerial, operational, fiscal and reporting components of the hospice, including ensuring compliance with regulatory and reimbursement requirements as defined by various government agencies.
Oversees the development and implementation of administrative, clinical, and personnel policies and procedures, including patient rights and the quality assurance program for patient care.
Monitors and ensures efficient functioning and coordination of all departments, organizational areas, and services.
Ensures the development, maintenance and administration of up to date service policies and procedures which are revised on an annual basis and developed to accomplish identified outcomes.
Ensures standards of ethical business and clinical practices are maintained.
Ensures collaboration with agencies and vendors for effective management of services and ensures services provided by other agencies are authorized by Hospice.
Oversees compliance with contracts for service and prepares timely proposals for renewal or termination to the President.
Establishes and maintains liaison relationships, communication and integration with Hospice staff and services, and with patients and their families, and the community in accordance with the philosophy and objective of Hospice.
Monitors operational progress toward accomplishing operational and strategic goals.
Develops annual budget for adoption by the Executive Management Group, and manages financial aspects of the Hospice.
Establishes functions and qualifications for all personnel, and determines staffing needs and staffing patterns according to program requirements and with consideration for utilization of personnel at their maximum potential.
Authorizes the appointment to staff positions consistent with agency policy and ensures the provision of adequate staff orientation and staff education.
Directs staff in performance of their duties, including admission, discharge, transfer revocation and provision of service to patients.
Implements conflict and complaint management/resolution systems and procedures.
Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication between personnel and services, including integration of technology, as applicable.
Ensures that Hospice personnel stay current with clinical information and practices and that staff and organization stay current on local and national issues and trends.
Ensures that staff development programs include orientation, in-service, continuing education, and competency testing and performance improvement initiatives.
Ensures that the activities of volunteers are coordinated in compliance with the volunteer program policies, including that such volunteers may only perform patient care activities when adequately trained and supervised; and that volunteers must possess the necessary skills and qualifications to perform assigned duties.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Professional Experience:
- 5-8 years of related experience
- RN license preferred but not required
- Demonstrated experience and ability in healthcare program administration including knowledge of reimbursement practices and health care policies
- Prior experience in the management or operation of a Hospice program
