Job Summary: The Financial Planning Analyst III is responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information, including but not limited to preparing the evaluation of potential investments, divestitures, contracts, product lines, generating and managing cost saving initiatives. Essential Functions: Responsible for analyzing monthly department reports to maintain expenditure controls and to proactively identify trends affecting future financial requirements Prepare and review integrated financial analysis and reports to management on a timely and accurate basis and incorporate post implementation reviews where necessary. Identifies trends and develops competitive analysis and presents findings to senior management. Responsible for analyzing financial trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Understand financial impacts of decisions and communicate those to management Responsible for the development of expense projections to support forecast and budget and monitor monthly variances to identify trends Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal analysis processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization Execute all necessary and identify need for internal controls for related entities consistent with Model Audit Rule (MAR) requirements Lead implementation of new financial reporting procedures for new programs or program changes Assist departmental management and others to assure that estimates are complete, accurate and in conformance with Company policies or other contractual commitments Support quarterly review, forecast process, and annual budget process within Corporate Finance Ensure integrity of information obtained for analysis; keep an up-to-date knowledge of the computer information system Maintains the reporting of revenue and/or expenses in the organization's financial software Review allocations of expenses and make necessary changes as required Assist in the training of new associates Perform any other job duties as requested Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in accounting, finance, economics, computer sciences or related field or equivalent work experience is required Business related post-graduate degree is preferred and provides credit for one year of related experience Four (4) of related experience in accounting/finance is required Managed Care or healthcare experience is preferred Competencies, Knowledge and Skills: Familiar with a variety of financial concepts, practices and procedures Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Ability to lead and direct the work of others Wide degree of creativity and latitude (independent judgment) is required Demonstrates decision making and analytical/problem solving skills to perform a variety of complicated tasks Possesses critical thinking/listening skills Ability to communicate with all levels of management Ability to work independently Detail oriented Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office Knowledge of relational database software and/or business intelligence (BI) tools is preferred Licensure and Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) FP&A, or related certification is preferred and provides credit for one year of related experience Working Conditions: General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time May be required to travel occasionally Organization Level Competencies Leveraging Feedback Customer Orientation Valuing Differences Managing Work Earning Trust Quality Orientation Adaptability Influencing Collaborating This job description is not all inclusive.
