Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Cochranton Veterinary Hospital. We are located in the suburban outskirts of beautiful Cochranton, PA. We are a growing hospital consisting of 3 veterinarians. Our AAHA accredited hospital has been a part of the community for over 40 years
The Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for assisting the veterinarian in providing care for animals in a veterinary clinic. This includes but is not limited to: restraining animals during exams and procedures, administering medications, cleaning and maintaining equipment and facilities, and providing general support to the veterinarian and other staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the veterinarian in providing care for animals
- Restrain animals during exams and procedures
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian
- Clean and maintain equipment and facilities
- Provide general support to the veterinarian and other staff members
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant preferred
- Ability to handle and restrain animals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
