Position Overview: District Managers across our network are trusted members of the Operations team and play an important role in supporting up to 10 hospital locations. They are an essential part of the integration process for newly acquired hospitals and build key relationships with new teams across our network, and they assist the Regional Directors in developing and empowering Hospital Managers to create fulfilled, engaged, profitable, and successful teams.
Our Ideal Candidate is an experienced Veterinary Hospital Manager who is ready for the next step in their career. They will have strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of financial management in the veterinary setting, including how to use that financial information to coach a Hospital Manager on improving a hospital’s overall efficiency. Who You’ll Work With: District Managers perform a cross-functional role within our network and work daily with their Hospital Managers and the DVMs at those hospitals; within CareVet, they work closely with the Operations, People and Culture, Integrations, Revenue teams and more!
Job Responsibilities:
- Coaching and Development:
- Interview prospective Hospital Managers
- Facilitate and represent CareVet during on-site interviews for Veterinarians
- Train and build relationships with new Hospital Managers
- At newly acquired hospitals
- New hires

- Implement CareVet best practices

- Navigate and document all performance-related issues with Managers and teams
- Performance Reviews
- Coaching and Discipline
- Financial Management:
- Fully understand a hospital’s P&L, including the ability to diagnose areas of particular challenge and opportunity
- Assist the Regional Director in creating and maintaining profitable hospitals
- Identify and monitor historical financial trends and create strategies to influence future performance
- Other:
- This position requires 50-75% travel – primarily day trips with occasional overnights to visit hospitals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or relevant education and work experience
- Prior veterinary hospital management experience required
- Certified Veterinary Practice Manager or Certified/Registered Veterinary Technician is desirable but not required
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Salary : $48,700 - $61,600
