Veterinary Technician
Location: Gretna, NE, 68028
Job Summary
Tender Care is a growing AAHA accredited, small animal practice located just 10 minutes from Omaha in Gretna, Nebraska. We are a fun-loving, compassionate group who loves serving our clients and patients in a warm and positive environment. We are looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician with experience in anesthesia, dental prophy, catheter placement, laboratory procedures, restraint and client education. Experienced Vet Assistants my also apply. Hours to be determined are Mon-Fri (with 1 possible weekday off) and rotating Saturdays from 7:45am-Noon.
Responsibilities
- Assist the veterinarian in providing medical care to animals
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Take x-rays and collect blood samples
- Maintain medical records and update patient information
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pet's health and treatment plan
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas
- Assist with surgical procedures and post-operative care
- Provide basic animal care such as feeding, bathing, and exercising
Requirements
- Completion of a veterinary technician program or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology
- Ability to handle and restrain animals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work Saturday mornings as needed
Salary : $35,700 - $45,200
