Essential Job Function
The primary functions of this position are ordering itemizations and medical records from providers for medical bill audits, investigating and resolving payment discrepancies between payer and provider claims information and entering itemization information into database.
The Bill Procurement Coordinator must be professional, highly proficient in Excel, high-energy, quick worker, motivated, a self-starter, able to work independently and must be detail orientated.
Must actively participate with other staff as part of an effective work team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Strong communication skills for outreach to hospitals, clinicians and other remote staff members in an effort to resolve discrepancies found in supplied medical information
Strong problem solving skills to determine inconsistencies between clients supplied billing information and hospitals supplied billing information
Compile, analyze and make conclusions about case information and status from multiple sources
Collect, store and apply specific hospital information to be utilized when communicating with facilities
Ensure all processes meet HIPAA and Government security requirements with regards to sharing / storage / PHI (Personal Health Information).
Participate in fact-finding special project request from clients and hospitals
Ability to interact with all levels of people both internally and externally in a professional manner
Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively and work quickly
Ability to work proficiently with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel required
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities with little notice
Generate Excel reports for hospitals, external clients and internal clients
Ability to work independently to meet objectives
Strong emphasis on organization skills
Validate correctness of medical information supplied by hospitals and clients
Validate itemization against claim information in the internal database
Track and tag all hospital supplied itemizations in the internal database
Support all other office functions when requested
Maintains a high standard of confidentiality and ethics
Competent and productive within high pressure deadline driven culture
