Job Purpose and Impact
The Carrier Representative will work with transportation company to move available freight within the organization's brokerage network.
In this role, you will handle relationships with a moderately complex portfolio of carriers through prospecting and onboarding activities to ensure efficient, cost effective and profitable movement of goods for the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Partner with respective teams to support the placement of a moderately complex carrier portfolio, standard operating processes, available capacity, and quality services.
- Engage frequently with key carrier contacts to establish relationships.
- Communicate with key carrier contacts on service issues and provide resolution.
- Maintain data and prepare reports in the organization's operating system to ensure accurate and timely information and relevant buying decisions.
- Participate in negotiations to support bids, price and service commitments which fulfill profit goals and service requirements.
- Provide contributions to continuous improvement activities related to carrier opportunities, best practices, industry developments and events.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Experience working in a brokerage, fleet operations, or in a supply chain position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the following transportation modes (Reefer, Van, Flatbed, Full Truck Load)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently; ability to understand and prioritize business issues and impact
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent business software
