Patient Care Technician

Patient Care Technicians provide direct assistance to care teams, supporting various aspects of clinical responsibilities and documentation. PCT’s assist their teams in maintaining quality care in the facility.

Duties include

Enter referrals, orders, prior authorizations as needed

· Ensure all care guidelines are completed as required within your scope of practice

· Assist with clinical tasks

· perform routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and provider staff

· Fax and scan documents for the care team

· perform in-house lab testing (i.e. Strep test, Flu test, UA’s)

· assist with procedures as requested

· perform other duties as assigned

Experience: One or more years of medical assistant experience preferable in a center/clinic setting and have excellent clinical and customer services skills. Skilled in provide on-going patient care. Qualified candidates must have experience performing injections on infants and adults and phlebotomy. Must possess the ability to identifying problems and recommend solutions. Skills in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence are required, as well as Skills in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public are imperative.

Education: Graduate of a formal program in medical assisting, such as vocational-technical high school, postsecondary vocational school, community, and junior college. Prefer experienced workers or certified applicants. CPR certification required. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care. Must possess a working knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer safe patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.04 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
