The RN runner provides nursing care with special emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms to hospice patients after hours.
Shift: Saturday- Sunday 8am-8pm
$1000 Sign on bonus
Reports to: Patient Care Manager
The RN runner provides nursing care with special emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms to the hospice patient after regular office hours. Implements physician plan of care and establishes a nursing plan of care based upon nursing process.
Licensed as an RN in the state of PA.
- Ability to relate and treat terminally ill patients/families and their particular problems.
- Must possess strong patient assessment, patient management and documentation skills.
- Previous experience in venipuncture skills and intravenous therapy administration preferred..
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skill.
- Access to reliable automobile with proof of liability insurance.
- Communicates pertinent findings to the physician, implements medical treatment plan, instructs family accordingly.
- Identifies problems/needs of patient of caregiver, making recommendations for pain management and comfort/symptom management.
- Responds to calls promptly when received from answering service. Is able to prioritize.
- Able to work independently and make critical decisions based on available patient information.
