JOB TITLE: Project Manager
STATUS OF POSITION: Full-time, Exempt
SUMMARY: Responsible for the management of and performance of assigned delivery orders issued on a contract and/or small-scale contracts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
- Manage to establish methodologies in all stages of the ADDIE Model for the development of instructor-led, Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), and simulations.
- Complete assigned tasks that are technically correct, thoroughly checked for quality control, meet the current requirements of the contract, and are submitted according to the agreed upon schedule.
- Monitor resource usage when relevant and complete assignments within these available resources.
- Recommend, and then as directed, implement high level, as well as detailed design decisions that ensure the products are developed within the “design to fit” parameters, are valid, and meet the detailed requirements of the customer, SOW, and contract.
- Establish the overall look, “feel”, functionality, design conventions, design methodology, and scope of the developed products.
- Recommend, and then as directed, implement high level decisions other than those related to the design that affect the successful outcome of the project. Examples include developing/modifying the schedule, coordinating with outside vendors when necessary, interpreting and incorporating changes in direction from the customer, and arranging for trips/IPRS.
- Effectively communicate job assignments and provide effective training and guidance to those being supervised. The Manager is accountable for the successful performance of those being supervised.
- Identify unforeseen circumstance that could affect the project, propose solutions, and as directed, implement the solution to ensure the project is completed successfully.
- Break the project down into work packages, establish and monitor a schedule, and make task assignments to ensure that the project is completed successfully.
- Recommend alternatives and then as directed, negotiate with the customer when “out of scope” requirements occur, or when changes in technical direction occur.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises minimum of 3 people.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (ISD or I/O Psychology preferred) and 5 years’ experience in Instructional Design/Development. Master and/or Doctorate Degree in appropriate field preferred. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree, if applicable and or allowed under assigned contract.
- Understand and apply adult learning theory principles to courseware design.
- Experience in managing blended learning types of projects.
- Superior time management and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
