What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plating Process Engineer position at Carlisle Companies?
SUMMARY
The Cable Process Engineer supports process improvements, sustaining engineering, capital equipment specification and qualification and technical support both Batch and continuous plating processes and related processes such as Waste Water Treatment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting/ problem resolution to ensure cost, quality, delivery and safety targets are met.
- Responsible for evaluating Scrap/Waste for assigned manufacturing processes and developing and executing plans for waste reduction.
- Ensures Standard Work for Manufacturing and supporting processes are in place to give consistent direction to production and minimize opportunities for safety, quality or down-time incidents.
- Participates/lead continuous improvement projects related to manufacturing processes.
- Performs engineering analysis, DOEs, trials to improve and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Participates/Leads in Capital Equipment planning/procurement/design/Installation/Qualification (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Coordinates with Maintenance, EHS and operations to ensure Safety measures related to plating area are compliant and effective.
- Supports Design Engineering with Process, Tooling, Sustaining engineering activities.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toed shoes
- Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses
- Hearing protection, in specific locations
