Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor will oversee the assigned production lines, delegate daily work assignments, and help drive continuous improvement. This position will be in our Compounding area in production.
Reports to: Production Manager
Functional Responsibilities:
- Identify and lead continuous improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost.
- Assigned to lead 1-2 A3 projects, o Creating a team to assist with the project o Gather and analyze data o Gather suggestions o Create a plan of action o Implement improvements o Update documents if needed o Present findings to upper management
- Ensure and enforce quality system compliance and re-enforce the quality culture with the team.
- Manage day to day production activities. o Looking ahead in schedule o Checking inventory levels o Requesting material o Manage activities to minimize down time
- Coordinate production planning (production changes, scheduling)
- Manage production staffing needs and training of new and existing personnel.
- Update training plans and SOPs/work instructions by identifying best practices to standardize.
- Communicate needs/timing with support departments (maintenance, quality, lab, etc.).
- Develop work team, take ownership, and hold self and team accountable for shift performance.
- Counsel, discipline and coach team members.
- Review and approve employee timecards to track employee attendance and PTO
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of team members for development opportunities or promotions.
- Complete and administer annual performance evaluations.
- Assist in Resource Planning (Capital Equipment needs, Staffing needs).
- Maintain & report production metrics (safety, quality, delivery and cost) and recommend improvement projects
- Maintain a safe environment by promoting employee involvement. Fill out incident reports and perform investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Assist in 6 sigma program.
- Support new product development & launch activities from a production perspective.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
Required Experience, Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong people & team leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a high pace environment.
- Computer literate / Proficient with Microsoft Office / familiar with ERP systems.
- Strong math skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) verbal and written communication.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in OTC/FDA/GMP controlled environment a plus.
- Experience with blending, filling, packaging, or automated equipment.
- Experience with employee relations issues, performance improvement plans, etc.
- Familiarity with Lean & working within a Lean Enterprise organization a plus.
Educational Qualifications:
High School or GED and 4 years of applicable experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
