What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Scientific Publications position at Carmot Therapeutics?

To support this vision, we are looking for an exceptional Director of Scientific Publications with significant experience in metabolic diseases to join Carmot and achieve the company’s goals and objectives across the R&D value chain. This position will report to the Chief Medical Officer.
At Carmot, we do not believe in silos, and we work highly efficiently as a small team. The ideal candidate would be an excellent communicator with strong orientation to detail, with proven collaboration skills and ability to work across functions to produce results in a timely manner. This role will manage the development and implementation of scientific communications activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the execution of scientific content strategies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high impact publications
- Establish processes and procedures to assess the impact of scientific communication programs
- Ensure alignment of publication plans with industry guidelines and corporate policies
- Maintain research area expertise through proactive review and scientific evidence to produce publications that are accurate and relevant
- Key point of contact to help facilitate scientific/clinical advisory boards, work with external agencies as needed to ensure a seamless externalization of Carmot’s science
- Interface closely with product development teams, scientific teams, as well as other business functions (PR, investor relations etc.)
Qualifications:
- Masters/PhD in any area pertaining to metabolic diseases and a minimum of 10 years of related experience in industry (biotech/pharma)
- Prior experience in any aspect of the drug discovery/preclinical/ clinical development functions
- A commitment to teamwork and a collaborative working style
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills
- Strong self-motivation, orientation to detail, and creative problem-solving ability
- The highest personal values, integrity, and ethical standard
- Ability to travel 20-25%
