We seek a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team to work on cutting-edge research at the intersection of data management systems and hardware. The opening is for a two-year postdoctoral position in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University starting in the summer of 2024 (with the possibility of renewal for a third year). The candidate is expected to live in Pittsburgh.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct original research in database systems related to hardware co-design strategies and explore the impact of the methods on both traditional analytic workloads and AI/ML workloads.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and faculty members across the systems, architecture, and ML groups.
- Develop and maintain software tools, libraries, and datasets to support research activities.
- Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals and present work at academic and industry events.
- Actively engage in the scientific community by participating in peer-review processes and collaborating with researchers from other institutions.
- Mentor and support graduate students and contribute to the teaching and supervision of students as required.
- Contribute to research grant applications, project reports, and related administrative tasks.

A Ph.D. in Computer Science with an emphasis on database systems and proven past research connecting that research to computer architecture.

Strong research background and publication record in data management.

Proficiency in C and Python.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
