Job Summary: Operationally responsible for the CRNA services and function of the Anesthesia Department. Coordinates the delivery of anesthesia with the Anesthesiologists and Perioperative staff. Provides leadership for the CRNA and technical staff. Functions as a liaison with medical staff for anesthesia services. Creates and maintains the staffing schedule. Assures competencies and facilitates education. Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures, and operational budget.
Minimum Requirements: Graduate of a nurse anesthesia education program accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs or its predecessor. Current license as Registered Nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) or current compact state license. Current recognition as a CRNA by NCBON. Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Certification/recertification by National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Master’s degree required; PhD, DNAP, and DNP preferred. Three years of practical experience as a nurse anesthetist required. Experience in a progressively responsible administrative position preferred.
