Job Description:

Carousel Child Care is seeking a dedicated Teacher's Assistant (TA) who is enthusiastic about working with children and supporting a lead teacher in fostering a nurturing and educational environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in childcare, as no previous experience is required and comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Lead Teacher in daily classroom operations, ensuring all children are signed into Tadpoles upon arrival.
• Constantly supervise children to ensure safety and immediate reporting of any issues or injuries.
• Participate in maintaining classroom cleanliness and organization, including managing daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
• Follow the lead teacher’s instructions for classroom activities, ensuring adherence to the set schedule and lesson plans.
• Support the lead teacher during meal service, taking responsibility for meal counts and ensuring all children are served appropriately.
• Utilize positive behavior management techniques to maintain an engaging and safe environment.
• Complete 24 hours of professional training each year from an approved source to enhance educational and caregiving skills.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 4 hour shift
• 4x12
• 5x8
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Anchorage, AK 99504 (Required)

Work Location: In person
