Job Summary:
The Marketing Coordinator creates, implements, and tracks strategic communications to promote and increase awareness of Carroll County Public Library in the community. The position requires strong creative and storytelling skills paired with excellent organization and timeliness in a collaborative team environment.
Essential Functions:
- Under the Director of Communications, develops a consistent marketing presence.
- Coordinates the production and distribution of information about library events and services utilizing a marketing mix.

Acts as lead creative for graphic design team collaborating and coordinating marketing requests with internal staff.

Oversees the design and production of print and electronic promotional materials, including graphics, newsletters, handouts, signage, and other items.
- Manages the development and execution of public awareness campaigns and advertisements working within a budget as directed by the Director of Communications.

Maintains an effective and dynamic presence online through the library’s web pages.
- Along with Public Relations Coordinator, creates content and monitors social media platforms.

Ensures that all print and digital materials representing the library are consistent with library branding and quality standards.

Develops social media campaigns to assist with marketing goals.

Monitors social media and employs crisis communications strategies as needed.
- Staffs and supports library programming and events.
- Creates original multimedia, such as photography and video, to promote and document library services and programming.
- Expresses library policy and position accurately and clearly.
- Represents the library at external events and meetings.
- Contributes professional marketing and graphic design expertise to system through special projects.
- Participates in meetings, teams/committees/workgroups, outreach activities and trainings opportunities, as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as instructed and assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of marketing principles and practices including experience with advertising and measurement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proof-reading.

- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field.
- Four or more years of experience in graphic design, communications, marketing, or related field.
