Position Type: Full Time
Department: Hillsborough, NJ Office
Description: Entry to mid-level position with minimum two (2) years of civil/site experience with AutoCAD Civil3D.
Responsibilities:
- Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and research utilities
- Prepare concept, subdivision, and site plans using AutoCAD Civil3D
- Prepare grading design and surfaces and perform earthwork calculations
- Perform general hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and stormwater management design and prepare reports
- Prepare NJDEP permit applications under supervision of Project Manager
- Prepare written correspondence and communicate effectively with staff, outside agencies, client, contractors, and subconsultants
- Adhere to project scope, budget and schedule of assigned tasks
- Perform site inspections and construction observations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D, AutoTURN, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe
- Experience with hydraulic/hydraulic modeling software such as HydroCAD or equivalent
- Sound understanding of site planning, design, land development approval process, and construction
- Identify problems and use critical thinking to solve them
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills
- Able to work independently with limited supervision as well as in a team environment
- Able to multi-task and prioritize to complete tasks on schedule and within budget
Education/Experience Requirements:
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-In-Training (preferred)
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in civil engineering/land development
- Valid driver’s license
