Position Overview:
Carrollwood Farms seeks a skilled and experienced Grading Superintendent to oversee our sitework and grading division. This role combines leadership and hands-on work, requiring a versatile individual capable of managing a team while actively participating in field operations.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly operations of the sitework crew, including task assignment and schedule optimization.
- Project Management: Estimate job costs, prepare takeoffs, and procure necessary materials. Ensure projects are executed according to engineered plans and building codes, while exceeding safety regulations.
- Equipment Management: Maintain and operate heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance, cleanliness, and safety.
- Quality Assurance: Enforce Carrollwood Farms' high standards of workmanship and implement best management practices for large and small-scale grading projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with farm management to achieve company goals, coordinate with external contractors, and provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with erosion control, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in sitework and grading, including underground utilities and large-scale earthworks
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, graders, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of construction equipment maintenance
- OSHA and erosion control certifications preferred
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
