As a Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring products and services essential to our construction, facilities, restaurant, and office operations.
Your responsibilities will include placing and managing orders, ensuring timely deliveries from selected suppliers, and overseeing supplier performance through scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs). You will play a critical role in maintaining effective supplier relationships and ensuring operational efficiency.
Summary of Key Job Responsibilities:
- Purchase goods, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets within department or project budgets
- Research and evaluate categories of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
- Deliver updates and reports to key stakeholders as and when required.
- Develop creative and innovative procurement processes that align most effectively to the business function we support
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement, including a strategic focus on optimizing tail spend.
- Negotiate contracts, improved prices, and payment terms with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
- Assess and evaluate existing and new suppliers through the management of supplier onboarding and offboarding process, and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities (SRM)
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.
- Manage new vendor set up and coding, and assist in on-boarding and off-boarding of vendors
- Administer and manage intake of general inquiries for the Indirect Sourcing team.
- Actively engage with stakeholders to ensure proper service levels are being met.
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
- Support/prepare RFx documentation for any new services required for the business and liaise with stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers and provide recommendations to the business and stakeholders.
- Prepare purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements.
- Maintain contact with suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
- Assist in developing standards for new products or services, maintains comprehensive descriptions of available products and current prices.
- All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, supporting development of strategic templates, strategy documents, project charters, executive project summaries & contract summaries, savings documentation, and audit
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2 years’ experience in the procurement required.
- Real Estate and Construction knowledge a plus
The salary range is $50,000 - $70,000 depending on experience. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
