Who We Want
Were seeking a team member whos eager to use and grow his or her technological skills in conjunction with the growth of the company. In this role, the successful individual will be able to administer on-premise and public cloud infrastructure systems, A/V solutions, hardware and software deployments, desktop virtualization, and Office365 email.
What To Expect
- Administer and manage the companys VMware Horizon VDI environment and thin clients.
- Work in conjunction with the DevOps team to provide SysOps duties within AWS.
- Technical contact for the companys video surveillance system.
- Provide day-to-day administration of Active Directory, Windows/MAC operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and AWS environments.
- Co-administer the companys VOIP phone system and components.
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
- Provide technical assistance for all A/V-related issues.
- Install, upgrade, and patch software using automated processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Perform regular backup\restore operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned which, among other items, may include ad hoc special projects.
What You Need
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field.
- Proven work experience in IT for 2-5 yrs.
- Ability to work independently by own initiative.
- Experience with or knowledge of current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, and server virtualization.
- Experience managing desktop virtualization and thin clients.
- Experience managing VMWare server clusters
- Working knowledge of basic AWS services. EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Route53.
- Experience supporting Active Directory including group policy, PowerShell scripting & domain trust.
