At Carton Service, CSI, an offset printing press operator is a skilled professional responsible for operating and maintaining offset printing presses.
The duties of an offset printing press operator typically include:
- Setting up and preparing the printing press for production runs.
- Loading paperboard and adjusting the press settings for proper registration and ink distribution.
- Monitoring the printing process to ensure print quality and consistency.
- Making adjustments to the press settings as needed during the print run.
- Performing regular maintenance tasks on the press, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
- Troubleshooting any issues that arise during printing, such as misfeeds, ink smudges, or registration problems.
- Ensuring that the printed materials meet quality standards and specifications.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion
Pay:
The rate of pay is per hour and is based on your experience and expertise as an offset press operator.
To become an offset printing press operator, individuals need to have a good understanding of printing techniques, press operation, and maintenance procedures. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work well under pressure are also important qualities for success in this role.
