Role and Team

Reporting to the Detail Shop Manager or designated supervisor, assure the quality of the processes First Time Right. Communicate with the detail team concerning quality goals, expectations, and a vital role in sale-ready preparation.

Must know, practice, and ensure that company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws are followed always.

Responsibilities

  • Work in team units tasked with vehicle cleaning, detailing, and sale ready prep
  • Machine compound, polish, and buff surfaces as necessary
  • Apply paint correction techniques to remove swirls, scratches, scuffs, and other imperfections
  • Paint touch-up as necessary
  • Applies advanced techniques to interior rejuvenation, stain removal, odor remediation
  • Provides spot checks and final vehicle quality inspections

Leadership areas of focus

  • Assist the Shop Manager in supervising staff to ensure efficient movement of vehicles in and out of the Shop.
  • Ensure the lot is clean and orderly and traffic patterns are efficient and safe.
  • Assist with proper scheduling and staffing of shop to meet operational and customer needs.
  • Assist in the development and training of staff within the Department
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, orderly work environment and friendly disposition by greeting others.
  • Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise Management of all serious complaints or incidences.
  • Assist department in achieving overall departmental goals.
  • Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Detail Shop Manager.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervision / management preferred.
  • Previous auction experience preferred. Auction background would be helpful.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good business judgment and discretion to analyze and address opportunities.
  • Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving
  • Strong multitasking skills along with the ability to adapt to changing work environments.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn, retain and articulate product related information and provide unscripted responses on appropriate subject matter.
  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.

  • The physical activity requirements of the position range from Light to Medium Physical Work.
  • Frequent - standing, watching, touching, listening, walking, talking
  • Potential - running, jumping, yelling or other rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations
  • Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions.

Physical Working Conditions

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station / convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations.
