We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Control Technician to join our Sand and Gravel Division.
Carver Companies has quarry locations in Schoharie, Johnstown, Coeymans, Ashland, and Halfmoon NY.
Job Responsibilities:
- Travel to the above location to collect samples from various quarry locations and transport them to the lab for testing.
- Conduct thorough inspections of stone products to ensure compliance with quality assurance guidelines.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to guarantee the highest standards in production.
- Grade materials in accordance with New York State DOT Specifications, ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Engage with Operations and Sales teams to understand and communicate specific client requirements.
- Work closely with Foreman and Plant personnel to ensure materials align with project specifications.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance production processes.
- Assist in picking up and delivering parts as needed to facilitate smooth operations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours based on operational needs.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications a plus.
- Prior experience working in Stone Quarries.
- Experience in Quality Control within a similar industry.
- Ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, carrying, and working in an outdoor environment.
Skills:
- Familiarity with MSHA Standards
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in quality assessments.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with New York State DOT specifications.
