What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSOCIATE CHEMIST position at Cary, IL?
The Associate Chemist applies scientific principles within formulations to aid in the creation of new products or refine current products. Supports research, analysis, and experimentation on finished products or raw materials, for such purposes such as evaluating product and process or application impacts.
Responsibilities (May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned).
1. Tests alternative formulations, raw materials, and processing techniques to support development or improvement of existing products.
2. Maintains and clearly communicates results through written/verbal summaries, reports, and project updates. Keeps project leads informed on progress.
3. Adheres to all laboratory safety guidelines and maintains cleanliness/organization in labs.
4. Tests performance characteristics of competitive products using physical, instrumental, and wet analysis techniques.
5. Provides support to QC and R&D Leads on product scale-up, quality control, application testing, and other cross-functional activities.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry (or other related field); Experience working in testing labs is preferred. Extended lab experience will be considered.
2. Open minded and optimistic.
3. Ability to plan and organize work as it is received.
4. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office.
