Position Summary
We are looking for a responsible Custodian-Maintenance Person who can keep our office complex clean on the interior and exterior. The successful candidate will be required to respond to minor repair calls for such activities as replacing a broken light, cleaning up a non-toxic spill and removing damaged office furniture. The Custodian will work during regular business hours.
Your Mission
- Perform routine cleaning tasks based on a schedule created by the facility management team.
- Completes monthly preventive maintenance and cleaning check sheets.
- Use cleaning supplies and be able to operate equipment to keep the interior and exterior of campus buildings looking clean and professional. Some tasks will require use of pressure washers and window cleaning equipment.
- Performs spot and surface cleaning of furniture and carpet. Some carpet cleaning will require knowledge of floor cleaning equipment.
- Perform high dusting and be able to use a ladder safely as well as move furniture to clean.
- Performs special cleaning projects.
- Responsible for keeping a running inventory of all cleaning supplies and submitting purchasing requests when supplies get low.
- Performs minor facilities maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Receives and completes work orders on a timely basis.
- Maintains tools, and cleaning equipment, and keeps maintenance area clean and safe.
- Escorts vendors and contract repair personnel when needed.
- Assists staff with moving and storing items.
- Recommends major repair work when necessary.
- Performs duties as needed to support special events and fund-raising activities.
- Sets up tables, chairs, and other items in accordance with approved Conference Room Reservation form.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Three years’ experience in general custodial work, grounds and general maintenance
- Excellent (English) reading and writing skills. Knowledge and experience reading and replying to email using Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Knowledge of safety and operation of power equipment and tools.
- Must qualify for Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance.
- Possess a valid Arizona driver license and be insurable under the agency automobile policy.
