Financial Analyst

As one of the largest privately-owned food service distributors in the Midwest, we are looking to add a Financial Analyst to the team! Our Financial Analyst position has been created to track our company's financial performance against a plan, analyze business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and help senior management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports.

Duties:

• Prepares financial trend and data analysis reports.
• Performs financial analysis on identified problems/ projects within defined parameters.
• Provides information to develop department budgets.
• Partner with leadership to develop and monitor margin improvement strategies
• Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action
• Direct preparation of studies, reports, analyses, and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports, pricing models and business forecasts
• Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts
• May be responsible for budget system completion.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• Basic understanding of US GAAP and accounting policies
• Budgeting/Forecasting experience
• Strong computer and financial modeling skills, especially in Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
• Excellent presentation skills; capable of working with and presenting to senior-level management
• Comfort dealing with ambiguity and ability to work independently, while recognizing the necessity of working within a team setting
• Well organized, accurate professional, with a keen attention to detail to facilitate planning, problem-solving, and process improvement
• Project leadership skills, proficient in time management, with a strong drive to meet deadlines
• Passion to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
