JOB SUMMARY
The Regulatory & Operations Compliance Analyst is responsible for providing proactive leadership and support of food safety compliance within the entire company. This role will also be responsible for reviewing and maintaining technical and regulatory information pertaining to the GFSI standards. The Regulatory & Operations Compliance Analyst will ensure that the organization complies with regulatory requirements with USDA, FDA, State and local authorities. This position will support the Quality Assurance Coordinator in maintaining GFSI certification for all sites.
Key Accountabilities
Provide technical and regulatory support for major programs and projects
Conduct weekly walk throughs, inspections, and thermometer calibrations of the operating unit
Support corporate monthly food safety meetings
Assist with warehouse tours to guests, customers, and vendors
Execute corporate food safety compliance strategies, policies, and procedures; maintain open communication with all related departments to address the identification of food safety hazards and process improvement opportunities
Ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulatory requirements (Federal, State/Provincial and, Local) Maintain effective working relationships with regulatory authorities, industry trade groups, suppliers, owned companies, internal stakeholders, and customers
Serve as the backup recall contact managing the product recall process to ensure timely execution of recalls and communication to customers, in addition to completion of related documentation
Monitor regulatory activities and manage compliance with GFSI certification and FSMA
Assist with audits for GFSI, customer audits, and other 3rd party audits.
Analyze results and assist with corrective action plans for audit non-conformance.
Assist with managing compliance with the third party Good Agricultural Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
Deliver and track program training for all associates and supervisors with direct Food Safety program responsibilities
Follow-up promptly and thoroughly on food safety complaints from customers. Effectively communicate resolutions to internal and external stakeholders as needed
Help with other assigned duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS Education
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Animal Science, Biological Science, or Supply Chain/Operations from a four-year college preferred
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training preferred
PCQI certification preferred
SQF training preferred
Willing to train the right individual
Experience
Minimum 1 years of experience in Distribution Center Food Service Operations, Quality Assurance/Control, Research & Development, Food Production/Operations, Supply Chain, or related discipline preferred
Knowledge of regulatory compliance preferred
Understanding of Food Safety regulations, laws, and best practices including those from FDA, USDA, and other state/provincial/ local entities preferred
Basic knowledge of food microbiology, food safety, and food defense preferred
