Casino M8trix is looking for a Casino Shift Manager to join our team!
In the absence of a Casino Manager, a Casino Shift Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the entire Casino operation and has final authority for all disputes and the interpretation of rules on the casino floor – unless referred to upper management for later resolution. Will handle all employee problems on the spot and will pass information on to the appropriate department head or supervisor for action. Ensures that all Garden City, Inc. dba Casino M8trix policies and procedures, as well as Title 16 of the San Jose Municipal Code and the Regulations and Minimum Internal Control Standards Regulations promulgated by the Division are followed by all personnel, and monitors overall operation for good customer relations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of management experience, preferably with casino or hospitality operations.
- Experience with managing 50 employees.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration preferred or an equivalent of education and experience.
- Be 21 years of age or over.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully pass background check.
- Gaming licenses from City and State Regulators will be required.

- Ability to learn, understand, and enforce compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to casino activity and employees’ roles and responsibilities.
- Strong ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, various levels of staff, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Above average communication skills.
- Ability to write and present speeches, and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to work well with both employees and managers at all levels.
- Experience working in a high-paced environment.
- Must possess a great deal of tact.
- Possess a moderate level of computer skills to utilize Windows operating systems.
- Ability to present information to top management, public groups, and/or Boards of Directors.
- Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems as well as deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees
- Ability to maintain strict confidence.

Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Oversee the entire Garden City, Inc. dba Casino M8trix operation and ensure that it is functioning as effectively as possible.
- Reviews any reports and memos and share any information with the appropriate people.
- Reports and documents any unusual situations or incidents.
- Inspects Garden City, Inc. dba Casino M8trix for cleanliness and take appropriate actions as needed.
- Makes recommendations to upper management for improvements in the operation.
- Greet customers, handles any problems and ensures general customer satisfaction.
- Provides leadership direction as assigned in accordance with the company organizational structure.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work/break schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
- Maintains daily personal contact with staff so as to be aware of any problems, situations or operational difficulties.
- Completes performance reviews as necessary, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines employees as needed.
- Monitors activities in casino area to ensure compliance with all company policies as well as all local and state ordinances.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.
Work Hours and Availability:
This position works on-site. Must be available to work any shift as we are a 24/7 operation.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range is between $75,000 to - $125,000 annually, depending on experience. Employee benefits are available for all qualifying full-time employees, including paid time off, medical, vision, dental insurance, and life insurance. In addition, employees receive a 20% discount on food, non-alcoholic beverages, and Casino M8trix merchandise.
