What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Castlerock Consulting?
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing various accounting functions such as month and year-end close, maintenance of general ledger, account and bank reconciliation, cash management, budget development, and special projects. This position will ensure that financial transactions are recorded timely, accurately, and in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), federal and local regulations, and Youth Homes' Accounting Policies and Procedures.
In this role, the Senior Accountant will prepare financial reports/analysis, delivering results to management. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will serve as a subject-matter resource to the accounting and billing team and function as the designated backup to the Fiscal Manager.
This is a full-time position with a hybrid work schedule that allows for working in the office Monday – Thursday and remote on Friday. The starting salary range for the position is $81,750 - $85,837.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field of study.
- 5 – 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least three years at a nonprofit organization.
- Thorough knowledge of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and nonprofit fund accounting.
- Proven experience leading month and year-end close process.
- Highly proficient with accounting software (Quickbooks Online preferred).
- Proficient in spreadsheets (Excel preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
