Job Summary:
The CNC Set-Up Technical is responsible for programing, operating, and set up of vertical CNC mill. Must be able to perform all tasks in safe and responsible manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for writing programs in Fusion/Icam to accomplish various machining operations as per the required sequence and dimensions of the job
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angel of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media; Facilitate work order paper flow in accordance with company standards
- Inspection of parts is required
- Conduct CNC and Robot training as assigned
- Must have tooling and insert change experience
- Must be able to read blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Must have experience with measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators.
- Experience with vertical measuring machines a plus.
- Make tool offsets
- Call up and modify existing and new programs
- Adjust work coordinates
- Prepare tools and fixturing
- Machine Tending as needed
- Must be able to report to work as scheduled and on time
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and/or Competencies:
- Mastercam, G-code and Autocad experience preferred
- A minimum of 4 Years’ experience setting up CNC machining centers
Education/Experience:
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience programming in MasterCAM for vertical milling machines
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Requires manual dexterity to handle glass parts, hand tools and knives.
- Tasks require lifting, standing, bending, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing, visually observing glass parts to distinguish colors.
