Job Purpose & Skills As a CFO for the Cat Digital division, you will guide the strategy and investments for the team responsible for building new and maintaining existing digital tools for Caterpillar. You will partner with the Senior Vice President of Cat Digital to lead, coordinate, and guide the activities to achieve short-term and long-term strategic growth targets. You will manage the development and creation of new business processes for tracking and reporting results, monitoring performance, and reporting to management. You will manage a high performing team that partners with the business to make resource allocation decisions based on achieving Caterpillar’s strategic goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for working to structure third party support to enable the resources required for the team to achieve their targets. Key Skills: Strategic analysis: Work with the Cat Digital team and their business partners to provide counsel as they shape strategic initiatives, including the financial analysis and scenario planning. Engagement of a high performing team that provides financial business acumen support to Cat Digital. Strategic workforce planning: Partner with human resources to plan a workforce that will deliver the strategic initiatives. Financial governance: Lead the financial reporting and forecasting for the initiatives under the Cat Digital umbrella. Resource allocation: Guide the team through prioritization of tasks and initiatives in order to achieve goals while meeting financial targets. Ability to understand and translate complex concepts to business partners Continuous Improvement: Employ lean principles to improve the processes used by the team to deliver on goals. Compliance: Provide leadership and support to leaders in fostering and enhancing a values-based culture. Background/Experience This position requires a strong background in strategic and financial analysis, forecasting and planning, and governance. Progressive work experience and/or knowledge of relevant industry preferred. Work experience with providing financial/strategic leadership to a Digital organization. Strong business acumen and analytical and project management skills are desired skills for coordination of investment proposals. The position requires 10 or more years of progressively responsible job-related experience. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to coordinate and explain initiatives across the business matrix with senior leaders.
