Description Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) is a joint venture between Caterpillar and Trimble whose purpose is to transform the way heavy equipment customers shape the world with solutions that differentiate Caterpillar and Trimble. The Verification and Validation Engineer will be part of an international team providing internal verification and validation (V&V) for CTCT products. This position networks closely with CTCT internal product/project teams, as well as Caterpillar and Trimble product teams, to provide high-quality products to the mining industry. This hands-on role will leverage the experiences and training gained from previous verification and validation positions. Job Duties Accountable for creating and executing test plans regarding internal verification and validation Responsible for testing sw/hw fixes, finding bugs and issues, documentation, machine updates, and troubleshooting. Operation of mining equipment during verification and validation activities. Perform machine and data collection setups to support test plans. Daily on machine test and validation activities supporting grade control setups Assist with developing and refining verification & validation processes for both internal and external teams. Mentoring and training activities within work group. Internal voice of the customer before a product is released to the end user. Management of Trimble, Caterpillar and CTCT databases used in tracking product issues Basic Qualifications 4-year Degree in Engineering, or related curriculum; OR over 5 years of progressive, relevant experience will also be considered. Previous mining verification and validation experience. Top Candidates will also have Experience with GNSS, machine control and guidance system design or validation Mechanical and electrical aptitude as well as manual dexterity to work well in bench test and machine test environments Data processing computer skills Self-starter with a demonstrated passion for the business Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a global team, dealers and customers, as well as problem-solving and time management skills Additional Information The location for this position is Tucson AZ at the Tucson Proving Grounds.
