Career Area: Engineering Job Description: Engineering co-op positions are designed to provide students with challenging projects that play a key role in supporting gas turbine product and development activities. Under the guidance of a mentor, co-op’s are given a meaningful work experience, a project assignment to complete, and the opportunity to apply classroom education to real work situations. Typical co-op projects provide the opportunity to analyze and develop turbomachinery assembly documentation and work instructions and detailed part repairs in support of a variety of gas turbine product lines. Additional responsibilities may include test performance and data analysis, materials research and analysis, engine assembly support, research and analysis of design changes for product improvements, manufacturing support, design tools for conformance with specifications in the areas of reliability, performance, cost, serviceability and manufacturability. Minimum Qualifications : • Currently in the process of obtaining a 4-year or advanced degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. • Classified by your school as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or currently attending graduate school. • Overall GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. • Technical knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals. Preferred Qualifications : • Previous co-op/internship experience. • Preference for candidates with permanent residence established in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. • Problem solving skills. • High energy level and sense of urgency. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Good business / technical judgment. • Ability to handle multiple priorities for a variety of tasks.
