As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will collaborate with the team and maintaining and improving processes and systems and the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. Further you will analyze and recommend current and future systems procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements Caterpillar’s Manufacturing Engineer position works both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. In addition, Manufacturing Engineers function as a specialist and subject matter expert for technical planning throughout a manufacturing facility. Specifically in this role you can expect to: * Review NPI concepts, prints, and change notices for manufacturability * Work directly with design engineering team to provide operations insight on NPI designs and determine factory impact * Analyze requirements and make recommendations for facility systems, processes, training, equipment needs, and engineering product designs * Complete both specialized and broad-based assignments / projects which may require collaboration and integration with other functions * Evaluate projects and prepare feasibility studies to define desired results, assess value proposition and determine project plans * Analyze, provide specifications and perform acquisition for new or replacement machine tools * Perform capital forecasting correlation and reporting as it relates to new product introduction, product capacity increases, machine replacement and process continuous improvement * Improve space utilization in manufacturing and office spaces * Develop and implement assembly processes in line with Caterpillar standard processes To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic qualifications): * Bachelor of Science degree in a technical/engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 year of manufacturing related experience * Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers * Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills Top candidates will also bring: * Prior experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment * Experience with Manufacturing systems such as Teamcenter and Geneo * AutoCAD experience * SSL and CTL product knowledge Relocation assistance is not available for this position ISC is not available for this position How we support you (Employee benefits) Our goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career including the potential to advance your career into operations leadership and other advanced manufacturing positions.
