Manager, Technical Services

II.  Basic Function:

This position executes commercial technology transfers of approved products to Catalent STP as well as providing technical oversight/input on products in development as well existing commercial products.

III.  Specific Activities, and Responsibilities:

Commercial Support

• Develops and sustains customer relationships through direct interaction, responsiveness, and accountability. Interfaces with excellence to both internal and external customers.
• Primary internal/external technical liaison supporting currently approved commercial products. Serves as the commercial SME for these products and the associated manufacturing processes.

• Works on complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of multiple factors.  Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.
• Demonstrates technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.
• Coordinates and reviews Technical Assessments for commercial products. 

Operational Excellence

• Champions and drives continuous improvements within the manufacturing environment via utilization of lean/six sigma principles.
• Actively seeks and implements best practices from other Catalent sites; actively communicates STP best practices to other Catalent sites.

Launch Excellence

• Accountable for ensuring a seamless transfer of new products from product development to commercial launch.
• Active involvement in the product development process via proactive interaction with the product development team beginning with the onset of activities in the manufacturing environment.
• Operational awareness and oversight of new product activity ongoing in the commercial environment.
• Provide Technical Expertise for VMS product introductions and rapid process development.
• Immersion in the processes associated with new product introductions such that knowledge gaps are identified and filled prior to commercial launch.
• Ensure processes developed for new products are safe, compliant, efficient, and operations-friendly.

• Accountability for delivery of technology transfer projects on time and on budget.
• Serves as technical lead for all commercial technology transfer activities.
• Ensures that all applicable processes and SOPs are adhered to during the execution of technology transfers.
• Ensure Technology Transfer projects adhere to Stage Gate process.
• Coordinate regular project status reviews with senior management/relevant stakeholders.
• Qualify alternate suppliers in support of supply chain and cost initiatives
