Description
The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for providing accounts receivable accounting and business support to the company. The position will oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic goals of the accounts receivable cycle and is highly involved in updating financial records, accounts reconciliations and supports General Ledger Team.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead, mentor, and coach Accounts Receivable specialists
- Process returned checks and submitted uncollectible tuition to collection agency
- Perform collections on aged invoices
- Analyze accounts receivable data in order to provide strategic input
- Prepare and enter month-end journal entries / inter-company cross charges journal entries
- Ensure complete accounts receivable accountability.
- Reconcile some general ledger accounts and AR to general ledger
- Process monthly invoices to other Agencies
- Provide support to periodic accounting audits and reviews
- Perform weekly, monthly reconciliation between sub-ledgers, third party records to general ledger
- Assist in documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Support other stakeholders in understanding process and procedures
- Assist with projects and related office duties as required
Qualifications
Education
The formal relevant education required by the position. Relevant experience/certifications in lieu of formal education will be considered.
- AA/AS or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field preferred
Experience
The relevant experience necessary to qualify for the position. Experience in lieu of education is to be counted as part of formal Education and not as part of the required experience.
- 3-5 year's experience in accounting
Other Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization while working in a large volume environment.
- Highly skilled and proficient at verifying financial or transactional data.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Superior spreadsheet skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Must work well individually and with a team in a deadline driven environment.
- Familiarity with Financial Edge and various accounting software platforms.
