What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Business Analyst, Community position at Catalyst Family Inc.?
The Business Analyst, Catalyst Community provides meaningful and in-depth analysis that directly impacts the agency and department’s strategic directions. The Business Analyst bridges the gap between Catalyst Community leadership and Catalyst Family Inc. accounting teams. They gather, analyze, and document business and contractual requirements, and then translate those requirements into performance measures the teams can implement. The Business Analyst works closely with stakeholders at all levels to ensure that contracts are successful, maintain compliance, and are communicated.
In addition, the position will coordinate various projects, collaborating with cross-department partnerships. The Business Analyst's main objective is to enable data-informed decision-making and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of center operations.
Essential Functions:
Research & Analysis
- Discover, cultivate, and use external research sources that support decisions with data.
- Maintain firm understanding of the organization’s operating needs as well as external industry environmental data points.
- Collect, compile, and analyze data related to budgets, spending trends, and contract amounts.
- Gather and analyze data and identify trends.
- Understand the contract needs and requirements.
- Document contract progress in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify trends and share solutions based on data and contractual knowledge.
- Translate the business requirements into specifications that the team can implement.
- Work with the Community team to ensure that contracts are on track and the requirements are met.
- Communicate progress with stakeholders at all levels, including directors, managers, and internal department partners.
- Collaborate with the accounting team and compliance team to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
- Support the development of Community growth.
- Improving existing processes by identifying areas for improvement and developing solutions to address those areas.
- Improving efficiency by streamlining processes and communication.
- Stay up to date on contracts and legislation that impacts Community programs.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain organized and accessible documentation of data sources, analyses, and reports.
- Prepare and distribute reports to stakeholders within and outside the department.
- Prepare reports and presentations to support decision-making and planning within the department.
- Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information and updates to relevant stakeholders.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- In collaboration with the Accounting Department, support development of the programs’ annual budgets and template systems following consistent methodologies and approach.
- Coordinate and engage in analysis of various KPIs that impact financial performance.
- Investigate challenges, assess needs, and analyze solutions.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis outside of normal project cycles as requested from management.
Additional Functions
- Ensure data accuracy, system functionality, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
- Organize department SharePoint sites.
- Recommends initiatives, identifies causes of problems, develops, and presents recommendations for improvement on data gathering and use.
- Design and decide how to maximize productivity through constant feedback from data users and to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data flow.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Travel: Up to 30%
Education & Experience:
Education
The MINIMUM relevant education necessary to qualify for the position
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Services administration, or a related field
Experience
The MINIMUM relevant experience necessary to qualify for the position.
- 3-5 years’ experience conducting similar research and analytics for organizations.
Shift Type: Full Time, Exempt, Hybrid, Temporary (anticipated through June 2025)
Compensation: $80,957 - $121,435 annually
