Restaurant Server

Catalyst is modern American cuisine restaurant located in Kendall Square searching for a dinner time restaurant server to join their Front of House team. The restaurant server reports directly to the Restaurant Manager and collaborates with all departments and team members as needed. The right candidate must have a passion for food and basic wine/spirit/beer knowledge. He/she is expected to deliver excellent service while maintaining Catalyst service standards and health and safety practices.

Catalyst Restaurant is dedicated to creating a positive and enthusiastic work environment that cultivates creativity and hard work. We are focused on continuing education for our FOH team members with weekly food and beverage training.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

· 2 Years of serving experience

· Experience with cash register and ordering information systems (POS)

· Display knowledge of food and wine/spirits/beverage

· Ability to multi-task and handle stressful situations

· Critical thinking/problem solving skills

· Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff

· Active listener

· Passionate about the hospitality industry and service and upholds the Catalyst vision statement and standards

· Guest-centric-Understands excellent service and the culture of hospitality

· Ability to develop positive and constructive working and interpersonal relationships with guests and colleagues

· Treats guests and all team members with respect and professionalism

· Cultivates a positive work environment/Team player

· Monday availability/AM/PM weekday availability and PM weekend availability

· Food safety training considered a bonus

· TIPS certification considered a bonus

Job Responsibilities:

· Provide excellent customer service

· Greet guests and present menus

· Take food/beverage orders and communicate dietary restrictions to the guest and kitchen team

· Upsell when appropriate

· Always maintain clean and tidy tables

· Deliver checks and collect payments

· Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and Catalyst standards

· Follow Catalyst steps of service

· Complete daily side work

· Correctly use POS system
