Career Area: Environmental Health and Safety Job Description: As an Environmental, Health and/or Safety Professional, you will serve as an experienced, individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that are complex in nature and that support and enhance Caterpillar's sustainablility initatives and EHS compliance. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: *Guide and support Caterpillar sustainability initiatives * Identify applicable EHS regulations and evaluate impact * Perform inspections and tests to verify compliance * Identify existing and potential EHS problems * Participate in developing corrective measures * Develop procedures to assure continuing compliance with regulations and organization standards * Develop management systems for EHS functions * Perform EHS audits * Develop EHS training programs * Review reports and data for submission to regulatory agencies * Monitor EHS performance and recommends priorities and actions for improvement * Review new products, equipment, and processes for potential risks and recommends modifications before introduction * Collaborate with employees and supervisors to identify and mitigate EHS risks * Develop standards and work practices with line personnel and monitors conformance through EHS inspections * Ensure compliance with organization and government EHS standards Basic Qualifications: * 4 year degree in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline * 2 plus years of environmental/health/safety experience Top Candidates will also have: * Ability to perform complex assignments * Manufacturing experience (either directly or support) * Hazardous waste, remediation and environmental management experience * Industrial Hygiene and hazardous material management experience * Professional certification (CHMM, PE, CIH, or CSP) * Ability to communicate and build relationships effectively * Ability to influence others * Strong analytical skills * Strong technical and leadership skills Additional Information: • Location of this position is in Peoria, IL but will consider remote work in San Antonio, TX, Dallas, TX and surrounding areas. • Relocation assistance is not available for this position • This position may require 10% travel. • Hybrid Work Flexiblity Option #LI-Hybrid This employer is not currently hiring foreign national applicants that require or will require sponsorship tied to a specific employer, such as H, L, TN, F, J, E, O.
