As an IS Specialist supporting GIS enterprise applications, you will be hands-on and provide leadership to critical enterprise software and license management support, through the lifecycle of software such as acquisition planning, purchases, maintenance, usage control, disposal and maintaining documentation on all software for the life of the asset for the enterprise.
JOB DUTIES:
Compliance Management:
Manage the tracking of IT software assets throughout the product lifecycle to ensure accuracy and compliance of all IT assets
Identify, research, and assist with resolving compliance related licensing issues to ensure alignment with applicable contracts
Analyze and interpret contract use rights
Manage Proof of Entitlement Documentation and Asset Authorizations
Collaborate with appropriate support teams to develop, implement, and promote policies, process and procedures for software acquisitions, installations, usage, and disposition
Support dispute resolution and audit defense initiatives
Comply with Caterpillar IT Process Controls for Asset Management
Serve as licensing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP
Perform tasks for Audit Readiness on an annual basis to ensure an effective license position
Acquisition Management:
In collaboration and partnership with business and Technology stakeholders, consult and navigate the process of acquiring and maintaining IT software licenses
Manage Enterprise License true-up & reconciliation
Encourages and maintains management support for all SAP IT endeavors by facilitating a bi-annual meeting to communicate current SAP Software Asset status and gather feedback for bi-annual software/cloud services exchanges
Maintains records containing information regarding contracts, such as expiration and notice periods as well as end-of-support dates
Acts as a point of enterprise aggregation for software purchases
Financial Management:
Reconciles supplier invoices for SAP
Initiate purchase requisitions for license & maintenance renewals
Drive savings from maintenance / license optimization
Primarily focused on SAP, but will replicate SAM program for other Software Assets
Report cost reduction & avoidance benefits
Provide SAP software costs within the annual GIS Offer to Sell process to be sure all external costs are recovered
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree – or 8 plus equivalent years’ experience required
5 plus years’ experience with vendor maintenance, support contracts and service level agreements
Experience with IT Service Management process/capabilities, IT Asset Management (ITAM), and IT Financial Management (TBM) industry methodologies.
Ability to translate licensing terms and conditions in vendor contracts to data collection or technical requirements
Ability to assess an effective licensing position to help identify costs savings opportunities relating to software and maintenance

Exposure to aspects of IT governance, change management, demand management, architecture, and infrastructure and application service
Adaptable to work in a varied, fast paced, ever changing environment
Knowledge of procurement policies.
